Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie

WHATS IN THE DISH?

A warm, chewy bar layered with chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut. Topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with hot fudge and caramel sauce.


SUPPLY LIST

  • 1 quart casserole dish
  • graham cracker crumbs
  • sugar
  • butter
  • chocolate chips
  • flour
  • baking powder
  • milk
  • cooking oil
  • vanilla extract
  • shredded coconut
  • crushed walnut or almonds
  • ice cream
  • hot fudge sauce
  • caramel sauce




MAKE THE CRUST

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

You'll need

  • 1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/3 cup of chocolate chips

Melt the butter and combine with the graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Press into the bottom of a 1 quart casserole dish. Top evenly with chocolate chips.

Bake for 5 minutes or until the chocolate is melted. Spread the melted chocolate out evenly over the crust.


MAKE THE FILLING

You'll need:

  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup baking chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup of crushed walnuts


Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add milk, oil and vanilla. Stir until the mixture is smooth. Gently stir in chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Pour into crust.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a wooden toothe pick comes out clean.

TO SERVE

  1. Place a slice of pie on a plate. Warm in the microwave if necessary.
  2. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Top with a scoop of ice cream.
  4. Drizzle with hot fudge and caramel toppings.
